APPLICATIONS MANAGER - POWER

Responsibilities / Essential Functions: This individual will be responsible for managing and contributing to the activities of the power management applications team with focus on PWM controllers for non-isolated and non isolated power converter applications. He/She will be heavily involved in all aspects of product definition, development and applications design support of power management products for Industrial, Automotive and Communications applications. The position will have two primary responsibilities - new product definition/architectures and the management of an applications team.

The new product definition activities will involve understanding the needs of multiple customers and distilling those needs into a product definition along with Design and Marketing. Managing the Applications team will involve mentoring and guiding the applications engineers to support IC development and support customers on applications designs.

The main job responsibilities of applications on new product development are defining new ICs, writing product datasheet, developing evaluation boards, validating new silicon, and developing technical documentation (datasheets and application notes). The role of applications on customer support is in answering technical questions, generating design proposals or custom reference designs, solving technical issues, and working with FAEs to ensure the design success of company products.

Required Skills/Coursework Desired: This is a hands-on technical manager position. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, conscientious individual with at least 10 years of relevant experience in power IC design or applications engineering with 3 years of management/supervisor experience. The candidate should have excellent knowledge and design experiences of DC-DC converters and various other power topologies. Good verbal and written communication skills, must have the ability to present technical papers at various trade shows or conferences. Systems level knowledge of power management products is a major plus.

Required Education: MSEE with major in power electronics is required.

Travel Percentage: Up to 20% International and Domestic travel
